Live a life away from it all, yet in the middle of everything.
The Natural Life
50 kilometers of hiking trails through pristine forest surround Spirit Bay. Paddlers delight in the clear waters and abundant sea life of Becher Bay. Jacques Cousteau named our region his favourite dive spot on the Pacific Northwest.
If you love the outdoors, you’ll love Spirit Bay.
The Sustainable Life
Our homes are built to last for generations, we have built a district energy system for heating and cooling, and we build light on the land. But it’s our residents’ values – health, vitality, inclusiveness, sustainability, and diversity – that truly make Spirit Bay a better place to live.
The Wired Life
The internet at Spirit Bay is blindingly fast, thanks to a new fibre optic network. You can connect with confidence, then disconnect when you’re ready to relax.
The Active Life
In addition to offering unrivalled hiking, biking and paddling, Spirit Bay is building a range of facilities for recreation.
These include tennis courts, a swimming pool, a multipart playing field, community gardens, and a homeowners clubhouse with meeting and hobby rooms.
Of course, these facilities will also encourage visitors to Spirit Bay. Which, in turn, will ensure our community remains vibrant, diverse and lively.
Village Square Life
Every authentic village is built around a village square, a place to shop, socialize and gather with your neighbours.
We’re about to break ground on our own village square. Imagine strolling through art galleries, shopping for craft beer and fine wine, picking up your staples of bread, artisanal cheese and snacks, then settling in for a beautiful latté at a sidewalk café.
The Boating Life
The area around Spirit Bay boasts the best fishing on Vancouver Island.
Spirit Bay is ideally situated next to the Cheanuh Marina. If you fish, sail, or just like to get away on your boat, a slip is waiting for you.
Of course, if you don’t have a boat, charters and rentals are available at any time. There’s simply no excuse not to be on the water at Spirit Bay.
The Fishing Life
The Sc’ianew First Nation originally settled Becher Bay because the rich sea life produced an abundance of fish and crab.
Today, you can literally throw a crab trap from many of our seaside home decks and pull up crab. And the waters off Becher Bay are the best for salmon and halibut fishing on the south coast of Vancouver Island.
The Shopping and Entertainment Life
Victoria, just 40 minutes down the road, is our bustling, beautiful provincial capital. Victoria boasts more restaurants per capita than any other Canadian city, a thriving craft brew and artisan food scene, an exploding tech industry, award-winning theatre, opera, ballet and symphony, and an international airport.
Even closer (20 minutes away) is Langford, where you’ll find every major retailer, as well as countless venues for sports, recreation and casual dining.
The Travelling Life
Vancouver, home of the Winter Olympics, and gateway to Whistler, is a 90 minute ferry or 20 minute float plane away.
Seattle can also be reached by floatplane or high speed ferry ride.
Of course, both cities are just a few minutes away by regular air carrier.
